SimplePortal is not a theme.  It is a mod for SMF. Please read more about SimplePortal and how to install it at: http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=docs

I can certainly help you through this process. I bet you are not stupid, but only need to learn a little bit before you understand.
First, I will ask you to read the SimplePortal documentation at http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=docs
This actually summarizes the information available from simplemachines.org.
Before you can install SimplePortal, you must have SMF installed. Then you will need to use the Package Manager to install SimplePortal. If you have any difficulty with installing SMF or using the Package Manager to install Mods, you can read the SMF documentation at http://wiki.simplemachines.org/ , and you can get very good help at http://simplemachines.org/community/index.php#c3
Please give this a try and, if you run into any difficulties, ask again here. We'll be glad to offer advice.

SimplePortal is a mod. Please follow instructions for installing any mod.

• SimplePortal is compatible with many other mods, including blogs.
• SimplePortal comes with a blog block which currently supports only one blog mod --  zCommunity
