Standalone front page?
« on: May 13, 2011, 03:46:14 PM »
I'm trying to get Simple Portal to give me what I think is called a standalone front page on my main page www.joe-music.net but it's currently at www.joe-music.net/index.php . How can I get rid of the index.php bit?
Also, when doing the PortalStandalone file alteration - it seemed to already have the right path in.

Would it be possible to have some help with this? I notice my post has a "waiting for approval by moderator" message. Have I posted it in the wrong board?

I just learned that unapproved posts don't show up in my "support radar". It was waiting for approval because you are new and you put links in your post. It takes a human to figure out if you are asking for support or trying to sell us WOW gold. Sorry your post fell through the cracks!
I can see your portal standalone page.
It also seems you have a page at http://www.joe-music.net/index.html -- one you don't want. If you delete/rename it, I think it is likely that the webserver will have no choice but to serve index.php in the same directory.
You are correct that your portal standalone file seems to be working just fine. Good job there.

Yay, thank you, that has done the trick.  :)

And I should have realised about the link seeing as I don't allow them from newbies on my forum either  :-[

Your second post caught my attention -- because it had no links, it was posted immediately.
I'm glad this solved your problem. I'm using the "mark solved" button for you.
