Redirection page after Login and Register
« on: November 20, 2008, 02:42:00 AM »
Hi, I hope this is the right forum for posting the following 2 questions:

(PS. I Know very little PHP + installed SMF 1.1.7 + SimplePortal + The Forum is installed in the Main Root Directory)

1st-  Question regarding Login & Logout redirections
When a member is Login & Logout the member is redirected to the FORUM front page
I would prefer the member to be redirected to the Portal Front page
If it's possible could you please tell me which file needs to be modified? (Thanks)

2nd -  Question: I have a Forum named >>>> Portal News
Via SimplePortal Admin page I have created a Category also named PORTAL NEWS
Then in the ADD ARTICLE page I selected the only Category (as above)
and after that I selected from the Boards : PORTAL NEWS
I selected all the Articles and pressed SUBMIT

ALL FILES WERE CORRECTLY LISTED IN THE PORTAL FRONT PAGE

My question is:
If I do include more topics in the PORTAL NEW's forum and I want include them also in the portal front page do I need to repeat the same process as above mentioned?
If your answer is YES, then would be possible to include them automatically either by using the existing option or by using a different alternative?

Many thanks in advance.

If you like that the News automatic appear to the creation of an topic, than you can use the Board News Block. This block automatic update on a new topic.

For the 1st we changed something in the next version for this :).

But for the meantime you can try this: http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=551

Many thanks for the suggestion,

I tried The News block but this will not auto include all the Topics of a certain forum, since we need to specify which Article ID number is needed to be included.

Thanks
Tony
