Topic: Installation Hangs at this point

After reading a post by SiNaN, where it said Simple Portal 2.3.3 will run on SMF 2.0, I installed it on 2 boards we have. On one we installed it, and are still running it. On the 2nd, we installed it, ran it a while, then uninstalled it, while leaving it in the Package Manager list.

Today I went to install the mod again from the package manager list. It runs the test and everything is marked successful, but it hangs at this point. The package manager creates the temp folder in /Packages/ , writes all the contents in SimplePortal_2.3.3.tar.gz to the /Packages/temp
folder (I made sure every file was there) but nothing further is done in the installation; the package manager just hangs and I've waited as long as 10 minutes. It doesn't appear that any of the files were moved to where they are supposed to go or any files were modified yet.

I noticed there are 2 install php programs in that temp directory; 1 & 2.
Now that the files are on the server, can I try to run these outside of the package manager? Any other ideas are welcome too.

Well, today I tried doing it again with no luck. I then deleted everything from the temp folder and tried it again with no luck. Then, I deleted the temp folder and tried it again and it worked Weird, but as long as it works
