How to move the portal page under the url that i want
« on: November 23, 2008, 12:33:14 AM »
Hi,

Thanks for the excellent mod! It's really useful!

I've already my forum under @ www.xxxx.com/forum, after installing simple portal, portal takes this page, but i'd like to install the portal @ www.xxxx.com, and still keep the www.xxxx.com/forum for my forum, could you give me the instruction to do it?

I'm still a newbie both for smf and PHP, hope can get some help here.

 :P

Could be a default feature in the further releases, I'll consider this.

For now, you can do this;

1) Turn the portal off from SPortal Admin >> General Settings
2) Upload the attached file to your website root.

You can change it's name if you want.

Then you can use it as website.com/index.php, instead of website.com/forum/index.php
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

Where does that error appear? When did you start getting this error?

That doesn't answer my question. Did you start getting that error just after installing or you did something and that error appeared? Also, which portal mode you selected?

Would you please try to post grammatically, as I'm having difficulty in understanding your posts?

That is what I was expecting.

Remove the file you uploaded. Go to your forum root and you'll see a file named "SPStandalone.php". Edit it with notepad and change the path to SSI. Then upload it to the directory you want to run SimplePortal in. You can rename the file if you wish.
