SimplePortal 2.1
« on: November 26, 2008, 10:54:11 AM »
I uninstalled SP 2.0 with no problems.

I installed 2.1 with no problems.

Now, where it is set to show avatars for the news area, does not show.
Where avatar is supposed to be is just overlapping text. Did a properties, since it seemed an image was supposed to show, and found this as the image's location:

Code: [Select]
http://www.bksmf.com/avatars/http://www.burkeknight.com/burke.jpg
This may be because not server updated avatar, as I used:
I have my own pic:
Specify your own avatar by URL. (ex: http://www.mypage.com/mypic.gif)

However, that most indeed is not the location. The avatar works everywhere else, and worked in the blocks before.

Set the portal for showing blocks in forum, yet they are a no-show there. Even set Advanced Options on one block.
Did select actions.
Checkmarked all except for Admin, and saved.
Still no-show.
Went back, and all were unselected again.
Tells me that the save function did not work for the advanced options.

EDIT:

It is confirmed that it is for remote avatars. I set to server uploaded, and it shows.

Which SMF version are we talking about? 1.1.7?

2.0 Beta 4

Also, on block moving, the arrows and directions are reversed.

Right arrow says move left.
Left arrow says move right.

Also, news block (forum board)
Shows each news as separate block. I like that. :)

Yet, have set so it can be collapsed, yet not able to be.
All actions setting places it onto forum, yet removes it from portal.

So, the NEws Board block has the selection to be collapsible, yet does not really have ability to be collapsed?

I really liked the ability to collapse them. :P

What about the not saving the showing blocks on the forum sections?

It probably was missed. But not a big deal I think. Could be fixed with first fix package.

All actions => shows only in all actions (sportal is not an action)
All boards => shows only in all boards
All pages => everywhere
Portal => only portal
Forum => only forum main page

But there is the "Advanced Options" for every block and when I chose for example "Portal" and "Forum",
the block is only to see in the Portal and not in the Forum. Went I back to the Adminpanel of the Portal
and take a look to the block settings, I can see only the box in front of the "Portal" ad marked, the box
for the "Forum" is empty.
It doesn't matter how often I try to save the settings, nothing happen, only one box is marked. :(
Sometimes I'm an angel, sometimes I'm a devil, but I am always 100% woman and if you have a problem with me, learn to deal with it!

Recent Image Block shows at least 5, even when set to show only 1.

Calendar block does not show calendar, nor events for even next day, when set for showing Events, Holidays, & Birthdays. Even when set for 7 days.

Also, what is the setup for the Recent post blocks? Meaning, is there a set number of days before a post is not counted? I tried setting to Topics, that is, yet still only does posts, no matter what I set the following at:
Display Type: (0 = posts or 1 = topics)

I tried the side block, set it at 10 showing topics, yet only 5 showed up. So, I kind of figure there is a number of days cut off. :)

EDIT:

Top Posters block:

Only shows uploaded and server avatars.
Remote ones have same issue as stated above for the News Board Avatar problem.

Arr, yeah. About the advanced options. I wanted to turn the portal on in every page except the admin-panel. I checked every box except admin, but for some reason it is not showing anywhere now ><

EDIT: Ah well. I figured out how to hide it without this occuring; but it's still a bug =/

Moved some of my issues to the Bug Board, as it seems that they are bugs, and I figured the team would appreciate them listed there. :)

I may not be an official Beta tester here, but I do my best, saying that I've been having SimplePortal on all my sites since I started with SMF.

I now have about 12 forums, all with SP. :)

I have the same problem concerning the blocks , they dont appear in the forum , just
in the portal , even if I check both checkboxes for the portal and forum

Quote
Went I back to the Adminpanel of the Portal
and take a look to the block settings, I can see only the box in front of the "Portal" ad marked, the box
for the "Forum" is empty.

in my case both checkboxes remained checked
