As you all know, we have been working on a new "bug fix + some cool minor features" release for some time.
Why don't you name the new relaese 2.4.0, since there are some new features buid into it? See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_versioning.

I am very curious about those new ice cool features, could you enlighten us?

I've just posted 2.3.4 Beta 4 to Beta Testers. You can expect RC1 very soon.

Why don't you name the new relaese 2.4.0, since there are some new features buid into it? See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_versioning.

We didn't name it 2.4 because we promised that 2.4 will have forum independent articles feature added. But the upcoming release has almost all features we were planning for 2.4 except for the articles module.

I am very curious about those new ice cool features, could you enlighten us?

Here's the changelog since 2.3.3:

Code: [Select]

I was hoping to include another cool feature in 2.3.4 which I really think is pity not to have, but I couldn't succeed in doing that yet. So it has been delayed this long for that. I'll give it another go today and tomorrow and if I can't complete it, I'll forget about it for now. That means we'll certainly have a public release in a few days.

Thanks for all the hard work. A lot of projects like this can take all the time people have... sometimes you have to back off and let more important things in life take priority.

Everyone is a volunteer here so please try and make a small donation to keep the Simple Portal website running

Things got delayed again due to stuff at school but I'll quote you my post in Beta Testers board:

I've finally added the last feature for 2.3.4. It completely changes the permission system for blocks, pages and shoutboxes. I really love the new interface. (kudos to Eliana for the idea!) I have only implemented it for SMF 2.0 version of the mod. If it works fine with your tests, I'll backport it to SMF 1.1 version and release the public RC tomorrow. I only had 15 minutes I can spend on the net today. Thanks in advance!

Just add @username: before your shout. Example:

Code: [Select]
