SMF 2.0 Beta 4 - SimplePortal 2.1 (2nd package after the 2 hours.)

Recent Image Block shows at least 5, even when set to show only 1.

Top Posters block:

Now, where it is set to show avatars for the news area, does not show.
Where avatar is supposed to be is just overlapping text. Did a properties, since it seemed an image was supposed to show, and found this as the image's location:

Code: [Select]
http://www.bksmf.com/avatars/http://www.burkeknight.com/burke.jpg
This may be because not server updated avatar, as I used:
I have my own pic:
Specify your own avatar by URL. (ex: http://www.mypage.com/mypic.gif)
It does however, show uploaded and server avatars.

Calendar block does not show calendar, nor events for even next day, when set for showing Events, Holidays, & Birthdays. Even when set for 7 days.

I'll let ???1031 check the last issue as I'm not very familiar with that block.

Just my two cents, but is the calendar actually supposed to be displayed...or just the events?

I don't see an option to show the calendar for that particular lock.  It just shows event edits.

Update...

I scheduled a test event for the 30th of this month...and set the Calendar block for 7 days.  The event was shown in the Calendar block on the portal.

Well, I tested yesterday, for Thanksgiving, and set it for 7 days.

Thanksgiving is today, yet did not show up yesterday in the calendar block.

Also, I'm using SMF 2.0 Beta 4, not 1.1.7 like you are, so this means it's only an issue with SMF 2.0 sites.

Thanks for the 1.1.7 test results. :) (I had forgotten to test my 1.1.7 to see...lol)

I am also using 2.0b4 with SP 2.1, my calendar block also does not show a calendar... only latest events and holidays.

I can't confirm this i tested it, it show the future events set to the time you insert.
Only Holidays and Birthdays are loaded only for today (like it stand in the description :P).

But i will try it again later on smf 2.0.... (But normal the system is the same oO)

I am also using 2.0b4 with SP 2.1, my calendar block also does not show a calendar... only latest events and holidays.
I knew this would come... i could not insert that calender itselve. And the discription say this it only show events, birthdays and so on ;). And i could not insert it because the SPortal have a current limit of only 5 options what made it impossible give a good way to customize some settings for the calendar (i programmed to much into the other block *drop*, but i think in future we will give more options to it, than it could be possible we insert that, too).

Bye

+ boardNews collapse

Still not showing after running update to 2.1.1.

Board News block in SMF 1.1.7 with SP 2.1.1:

Shows the avatar to the right side of the block.

boardNews block is not collapsable anymore, it is due its template. If you really want it to be collapsable, then I can provide you the codes to make that. Also, when you edit/create a boardNews block, you will not have the collapsable option.

That's, too, an intended behavior. When it is displayed at the left, it sometimes brakes the layout. So we decided to put it to that right.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

Actually, if have a code so only Staff could collapse the board news, that would be great. :)

As for the avatar to the right, that I take it is due to a SMF 1.1.x issue, and will not be changed in future SMF 2.0 versions of SimplePortal?

Bump this topic after 3 days and I'll provide you the codes.

About avatars; it appeared in both SMF versions. If it is still at the left for SMF 2.0 version, then it's a bug.
