Some shouts sometimes disappear on refresh
« on: February 05, 2014, 03:57:42 PM »
Hi,

My site is experiencing an issue where any instance of a chatbox "eats" chats. It essentially loses the last several chats every so often on refresh (auto or page). Is this a known/common issue? What can I do to fix it? I would like to replace the SMFPacks shoutbox with this one, as it seems easier to customize, but can't do that if it's nomming on chats.

Thanks
Kal

Can u describe what is chatbox "eats" chats ?

How much seconds interval you've set ?

What SMF version and Simple Portal version you've installed ?

SMF 2.3.5
Simpleportal 2.3.5

The auto refresh interval i currently 10 seconds, but this has occurred at all checked ranges (5-20).

By "eating" chats, I mean, that the most recent chats will display properly, and then just disappear  when the chatbox updates. This does not happen every time, but is quite frequent. The chats are still there, and display (come back) if you enter a new chat.

Are there any "whispered" shouts involved?

No. There are no shouts involved. I actually fixed this by unchecking the "Caching" option. Haven't seen the issue since.

Thanks for all the help!

That is very interesting.  I have passed that information on.  I hope it helps the next time the code is updated.  Thanks for sharing that information.

I hope you won't mind me marking this solved.
