Hi, is there any way to place one shoutbox in right block on portal and somewhere in top block on forum view ?

Correct.
However. You can show the same BLOCK in more than one page.

So, in the Display options for the block, you have several choice.

If you want to have two different shoutbox's in two different locations on different pages you would have to go to admin -> simple portal -> shoutbox and create two unique shoutboxes.  Then you could have one in a rightside block on the portal and the other in a top block on the forum.

There is a tick for this. But I don't recommend it...

Create a PHP block. And put the below its content:

I think the original poster would lie the SAME shoutbox to turn up on TWO DIFFERENT PAGES.

This can be done, simply with the advanced display options.

this is not entirely correct. I had my main shoutbox in a top block on just my portal page, then I linked the same shoutbox in a right block of all my forum pages.  (this is what the op is asking, he wants the same SB in two different blocks.)

so yes it is possible if you set it up correctly. however people with slow connections will complain about lag.... and the right box on my forum was encroaching on the posting area. So I ended up removing it.

I have one shoutbox called "general shout" it is displayed in a top block. on my portal page only.

I have the same shoutbox also being displayed in a right box on all my forum pages.

If you post in the general shoutbox on the portal page (which is in a top block), other members who are in the forum will see your shout appear in the RIGHT block.

matt -- you used a customization to make it possible to "reuse" the block? Or you used a "blocks in blocks" call to do it?
