Ref:- boreders & scrollbars on user info
« on: April 28, 2010, 10:34:29 PM »
Hi can you read this topic & then read what I've just wrote underneath the link & tell me if what I've done is OK.

http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=5021.0

I use blakrain V2 & it does this but only with the info box & some custom HTML boxes if i put to much into them for some reason, but i changed it to

Code: [Select]
div.sp_block
{
overflow: none;
padding: 0 0.5em;
}

& it seems to have done the trick. now you seem to know a bit more about CSS than i do so will this cause issues  or will this work just as well ? as what  [SiNaN] said in that topic ?.

I only had an issue with the user info box as i changed font size to get rid of them in my HTML box but if i change it back now will the scroll bars be gone for good with this method ?.

TIA
Jim  :)

Code: [Select]
{
overflow: none;
}
should have exactly the same effect as
Code: [Select]
{
}

Your choices for overflow are: visible | hidden | scroll | auto | inherit

Cheers ive been using http://www.w3schools.com/ to get some information from and I remembered seeing something along the lines of

h1.hidden {visibility:hidden;}

&

h1.hidden   {display:none;}

I did it that way just in case i need to go back to it as im new to all this you see so I wanted to change it as little as possible but thanks for the input I will mark this as solved

P.S. thanks for those links.

Another way to save something you think you might want to put back in later is just to comment it out in the code. In your CSS or php block,
Code: [Select]
/*
     Code you want to comment out for now;
*/

And in html
Code: [Select]
<!-- HTML comment block
      <a href="somethingsomething.com">link to this</a>
-->
