Full Header (Replace SMF Header?)
« on: March 04, 2011, 07:29:24 AM »
Hi There!

I've searched to the best of my ability and couldn't find the answer. If this issue has already been posted, please just send me a link to the post, and I can take it from there  :)
Otherwise...
I am using SMF 2.0 R5
SP version 2.3.3

I would like to have a full size header (my banner i suppose? ) replace the SMF header area..it's driving me nuts that I have 2 login areas, 2 search boxes, 2 news sections, etc.
I apologize I'm new to all this, and I'm learning as I go along. Attached is a screen shot for reference, if needed, otherwise the site in question is www.thenetxchange.com

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Figured I'd try one more time to ask for help since no one has replied  :(

I placed a custom header in place of my banner. How do I get that to stretch across the entire top of the page, as well as make the rest of the header section obsolete? Anyone?

Actually, you have a fairly simple theme question, and shouldn't have too much trouble finding and stripping out the things you don't want.  Do all your trying out on a test forum, or at least a test theme, of course. You'll find all that stuff in index.template.php.

You may find a larger community of SMF theme enthusiasts at simplemachines.org, who may be able to answer all your inevitable questions pretty quickly.

Enjoy!
