Icons in block headers
« on: May 05, 2010, 10:39:26 AM »
I would like to find someone willing to tackle this for us.

Adding an icon to the block headers.  You could select the icon from a drop down of choices.   Directly from the "ADD BLOCK" page.

That would be super nice and will help dress-up the plain block headers.

Compensation available.  PM me if you want to take a shot at this.

Could just parse BBC there.

Or you could just make a custom edit to your Portal.template.php file...

Could just parse BBC there.

Can you give me an example of how I parse BBC to accomplish this?

Chris is suggesting that you could alter SP's code so that the title field for each block is parsed as BBC. You could then use the img bbc tag within the title field to add an icon.

That sounds like and ideal solution, but I don't have the skills to accomplish this myself.....

That makes the whole thing much easier!
And look -- parse_bbc is already in there in sp 2.3.2  These devs think of everything!

ehsizzup -- I tested sticking html <img> tags in the block label, but did not even THINK of trying BBC! But just made it work at demo.simpleportal.net
Code: [Select]
User Info

Works fine.  You can supply whatever image URL you have handy.
No customization required.

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?

Lol, I didn't realise that we had set the title to be parsed by BBC, make sense though. :D
