Yes.

1) You've got a shoutbox in a top or bottom block.
Just create a page (html, bbc, or php), tell that shoutbox block to show up on that page, leave the page's center area blank, and tell all the other blocks not to show up on that page.

2) You've got a shoutbox in a right or left block, and want it in the center of your page.
Switch your page to php type.  Use blocks-in-blocks to call that block in the center of your page.

First, find out the block ID for your block.  You can learn this from the blocks list -- when you edit the block, you'll see the URL contains "block_id=", followed by a number.
So, suppose your shoutbox BLOCK is #49. Then this code, in your php page, should load the block in the center of the page:
Code: [Select]
$block = current(getBlockInfo(false, 49, false, false));  // Load block info
$block['style'] = sportal_parse_style('explode', $block['style'], true);  //Parse block style parameters.
template_block($block); // Output the block.

If you wish to use different style parameters on the page, there are other ways to do that, as well, including calling the shoutbox block directly.

You would have to write a php page that had all the SMF stuff that SimplePortal uses for keeping track of whether the use is logged in, who can see shouts, who can shout, where to find the shouts, where the shoutbox block information can be found, etc.

Since the shoutbox is integrated into SimplePortal and SMF, it would be much easier to put it on a SimplePortal page.

that's exactly what i want :)

well i don't want it to be part of the site you see so i can't have it on a SP page

If you want a shoutbox that is not integrated with the forum -- you might prefer a shoutbox that is not integrated with the forum.

If you want the simpleportal shoutbox, you will have to use it on the forum or on the PortalStandalone page.

A Portal Standalone page *IS* a portal page.  It's got all the navigation buttons and everything. But it can be in a different directory from the rest of your forum. It is probably not what you want.

SimplePortal does not offer a way to put any simpleportal components on a page that is not part of the SimplePortal installation.
