Recent Topics Modification
« on: March 11, 2010, 12:04:42 PM »
It appears that SP only shows recent posts/topics from within so many days. I would like to be able to make it so the recent topics displays the most recent 3 topics regardless of when they were posted.

I know nothing about php so if somebody can help me I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

This isn't really a bug with SP. It is related to the lowest message id calculated by ssi_recentTopics() function being too high. See this post for solution.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

Thanks for the fast reply, but I can't seem to find that line in any of the files. Where is it?

It's in SSI.php file in the root.

Sorry to keep bothering you :P
But that didnt work, we changed 25 to 75 and nothing changed, we then tried 500 and 4000 and still the only topic displayed was one posted today, the second most recent topic in the particular forum was posted two days ago for reference and we've averaged 500 posts per day this month if that affects it.

Any ideas?

Just for debugging, you could try getting rid of that condition altogether.

Code: (find) [Select]
  WHERE m.ID_MSG >= " . ($modSettings['maxMsgID'] - 25 * min($num_recent, 5)) . "
   AND b.ID_BOARD = m.ID_BOARD" . (empty($exclude_boards) ? '' : "
Code: (replace) [Select]
  WHERE b.ID_BOARD = m.ID_BOARD" . (empty($exclude_boards) ? '' : "

How to do that for 2 RC2 version?
