Topic: Calendar Birthdays

Good Morning,

I was wondering if some one would help me with this. I want the calendar block to only show the birthdays for a specific user group on my site rather than everyone who is registered that has a birthday on their profile. Is this possible?

after playing with the calendar for a few days... i would be inclined to agree with XVP40

that has a birthday on their profile.

of course the calendar only shows Birthdays that have been entered in a profile..

Of course it would be possible to write a mod that extends the functionality SMF and SimplePortal currently provide. This is what modding is all about.
 
To do this, of course, would require altering the calendar block and altering or replacing the functions it calls to get it data.
 
You would need:
1) A customized calendar block that asks you for a list of allowed and/or disallowed birthday membergroups (probably as comma-separated numbers, to keep it simple).
2) The custom calendar block would have to call a customized calendar function that accepts a list of allowed and/or disallowed membergroups, then only retrieves the desired birthdays from the database.

This is perfectly possible, and not all that hard (though a bit time-consuming), if you have a little experience with php and SQL.
