Heading issues using theme variants
« on: January 02, 2012, 05:53:42 PM »
Have trawled the search because I'm sure I had this problem when last upgrading simpleportal but can't find a solution.

My portal block headings revert to the default colour/theme design at the far left of each heading when using theme variants. I can find a fix when using non-core or non-default theme (eg putting portal.css in all theme/css folders) but what is the solution when using multiple colour variants within one theme?

Many thanks

W

Bump (sorry)...

Have added an image in case my original explanation wasn't clear :nervous-happy:

I believe portal blocks pick up their header images from Subs_Portal.php and have found the following code:

Code: [Select]
$context['html_headers'] .= '
//
';

That coding doesn't appear to pick up variant themes at all beacuse they use images with the variant theme colour added as a subscript eg. '/theme/main_block_blue.png, '/theme/main_block_red.png, '/theme/main_block_green.png

Does simpleportal not support variant themes? Or is this a bug?

Thanks

Hmmm.

Looking at the images being used to create the two separate colours in the heading (as above), one is correct (main_block_green.png) but the first part of the heading is picking up main_block.png which in my case was grey.

Thanks Underdog, those posts throw a lot of light on the issue without going as far as giving me a complete solution for variant themes. I'll play about with the css folders for the different colour schemes in my set up and see if I can find a fix

Willerby,

You seem to have hit the nail on the head.
I mean the part about the variant themes :)

You could try copying the desired variant to main_block.png
But as I am not at all familiar with variant themes myself, I don't know what affect this will have on the appearance of your forum. I would test it in a test forum, before going live with it.

As for the slow response -- you have our sincerest apologies. There simply are not enough volunteers to go around. The team have all become quite busy, and do not have enough time to give support questions the attention they deserve.

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?
