Standalone and .htaccess
« on: September 12, 2010, 09:04:57 AM »
I accidentally remvoved .htaccess and standalone mode stopped working. I tried to get anywhere close to make it work and still having problem. Here are the setting.

front page: domain_name/test/portal.php
smf directory: domain_name/test/smf

with content in .htaccess as

Code: [Select]
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule . - [L]
RewriteRule . index.php [L]

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

What do these rewrite rules do for you?

I am still not sure what you are trying to do.

Here is my advice -- keep it simple.

1) put your standalone file at http://domain_name/test/index.php
Follow the standalone portal instructions to set up the path to the forum correctly.

2) In SMF, at http://domain_name/test/smf/index.php?action=admin;area=portalconfig;sa=generalsettings
In the Standalone URL, put http://domain_name/test/index.php

3) No .htaccess filename rewrite rules should be necessary

Thanks Angelina. I did exactly what you said here and it works. It is not portal.php, but index.php

Yes. index.php is the "home page" in a directory.
Glad to help keep it simple
