Errors on portal visit
« on: February 15, 2011, 04:12:58 PM »
I just noticed that these errors have been occurring for awhile clogging up my error logs.

The portal seems to cause two errors to occur upon viewing it.

Code: [Select]
http://www.blackopsservers.com/index.php?http://www.blackopsservers.com/
2: Invalid argument supplied for foreach()
File: /home/******/public_html/Themes/default/languages/Post.english.php (portal_above sub template - eval?)
Line: 110

and

Code: [Select]
http://www.blackopsservers.com/index.php?http://www.blackopsservers.com/
8: Undefined index: normal
File: /home/******/public_html/Themes/default/languages/Post.english.php (portal_above sub template - eval?)
Line: 110

On the administration logs it considers the first error as a general error and the second as undefined.

Hi blackops -- this is not a bug in SimplePortal. I would classify it as an incompatibility between SimplePortal and whatever mod made those changes to Post.<language>.php

SimplePortal does not make any modification to that language file -- see http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=parse;mod=1104;attach=160883;smf_version=2.0_RC4 for a complete list of the modifications in the SimplePortal install package.

Try checking for the file that has made these changes in Post.english.php. That mod must also cause something else to be defined when that file is ordinarily loaded to display posts. To make it work with SimplePortal, you will have to make that mod do its thing even on the portal page.

The fix might be very simple. The mod's author might be able to quickly point in you the right direction, if you talk about the errors you are getting from using Post.english.php in a context he had not anticipated.
Please to keep this website running, if you like SimplePortal, make a

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?
