Restore of stats for a deleted member
« on: July 19, 2012, 09:31:12 AM »
I was recently deleted by error in our forum. Although we were able to recover (restore) the user name the stats for total topics started and total time on forum went to "0". The number of posts were restored.
Is there a way to restore the two reset items.
Chuck

You can only "RECOUNT ALL FORUM TOTALS AND STATISTICS" in forum Maintenance.
If that doesn't help you can try Admin Toolbox or Recount Member Posts, both have options for recount member stats (post count).

Total time on forum cannot be restored. This was deleted along with old account.

Thanks, we will look at the suggestions for total posts and be happy with that. total time probably is not important when the post numbers are high..
Thanks, Chuck

You can manually add value in table prefix_members for selected member in column total_time_logged_in
Value should be in seconds ;)

But as always before making any changes in database - remember to make backup.

I thought we were using simple portal for our forum. Am I confused? the bottom of the page says simple portal and gives the smf and release levels.

but it's the SMF forum itself that handles users, SimplePortal is only a mod for SMF

Yes.  SMF does most of the work of your forum.
Simple Portal is an "add on" for SMF forums, and does the "portal" stuff -- the blocks, the articles, the SimplePortal shoutbox.

Just like other SMF mods do other things on your SMF forum.

It is no problem that you asked here.  You got an answer from a knowledgeable SMF user.
Sometimes, because the SMF community is so much larger than the Simple Portal community, you will find that you will get more answers more quickly at the http://simplemachines.org.

I'm glad phantomm was able to give you the answer you need.

Did that solve your problem?

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?
