hmm about custom page and menu buttons
« on: February 19, 2011, 11:23:34 PM »
u know if u click on a button on the menu bar
it leads u to a page, and then that clicked button will be highlighted

so my question is
if i make a page in simple portal admin
and then i add this button to the buttons in subs.php
when i click the button, "home" gets highlighted
how do i make that button to be highlight-able?

thx

Even I'm looking for this.

I think this won't happen by just adding a tab in subs.php.

It needs some more codes but I don't have any idea about it.

I think you may have better luck with starting a new topic. The one you replied to is closed, and support specialists won't find it.

The suggestion that Oya used is the one you want.

You did not use a mod to create the new button?

You need a line that sets $current_action to be for your button, and you need your button to get highlighted if $current_action is set to that.

Please attach the portion of subs.php where you added your new button.

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?

'href' => $scripturl . '/page,chisiamo.html',
'show' => $context['user']['is_admin'],
'sub_buttons' => array(
),
),

no, still need assistance

how do i make it into an "action"?
i can create buttons but i can't make them highlight-able

i've read the post by Oya, and i understand how to make existing actions get highlighted like "moderate"
but i don't know how to do it with simple portal custom pages

also what if i just sub buttons inside that

The advice offered to raffo on his new topic was good -- in addition to the button, you need a way to tell if that button should be active.

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=423216.msg2962992#msg2962992

If you make a page called 'pageHELLO', then you would use 'pageHELLO' where raffo used 'chisiamo'

Can you give that a try?
