Using:

Code: [Select]
<?php require("/path/to/forum/SSI.php"); ?>

Don't know if I'm following but imagine that you want to call ssi_topBoards you can do something like:

Code: [Select]
$boards = ssi_topBoards(parameters);
See here for the parameters: http://support.simplemachines.org/function_db/index.php?action=view_function;id=517

It's an example.

Because SimplePortal itself loads SSI.php (in order to use SSI functions in the built-in blocks), it is not necessary to include or require SSI.php.  Simply make the call the the SSI function you wish to use.
ProtoGT, were you able to call the SSI function you wanted to call? Or are you trying to use some other custom code, which might require functions in some other file as well?

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?
