Amazon aStore: Inline frame or frameset?
« on: October 11, 2011, 09:46:40 PM »
I've got an Amazon aStore set up, and for a long time I've run it as a standalone site:

Code: [Select]
http://astore.amazon.com/ravensbeak-20
Amazon gives you the option to set it up as an inline frame, or a frameset if you'd like. Which one of those would be better on an SP Page?

Inline code:
Code: [Select]
<iframe src="http://astore.amazon.com/ravensbeak-20" width="90%" height="4000" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

Frameset

Code: [Select]
<frameset rows="80,*" border="0">
  <frame src="INSERT_YOUR_PAGE_HERE" name="topFrame" frameborder="no" scrolling="no" noresize="noresize" />
  <frame src="http://astore.amazon.com/ravensbeak-20" name="mainFrame" frameborder="no" />
</frameset>
If I use the frameset, and have named the page "Bookstore," does the "INSERT" link become
Code: [Select]
http://mwf.ravensbeak.com/forum/index.php?page=Bookstore
HTML, or PHP? Neither one previews correctly. I presently have the bodyclass set to windowbg, but information and roundframe don't seem to work right either.

You've got a 2questions here
1) You want to put some HTML on a page. So you should add an HTML page. The iframes example you give seems to work for me in preview. If you use the frameset version, leave out the "topframe" frame altogether.

2) If you want the URL of the newly-created SimplePortal page, you can go to the list of pages, click on the page you just created, and see the URL in the adress bar.
Please to keep this website running, if you like SimplePortal, make a
one-time subscription. Thank you for your support.

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?
