No posts were found - what?
« on: January 30, 2014, 06:45:42 AM »
Hey there folks, I'm pretty new at this stuff. I've just installed simpleportal on my forum, then tried something out. Whatever I do, I can not let that sentence go in the homepage: "No posts were found."

What should I do in order to send "post" and remove that sentence go?

Thank you in advance!

Hello merlout, and welcome to SimplePortal.

I think I can help you solve your problem.
Which block is causing the "No posts were found" message?  What type of block is it?

Hey again,

I think it is in the 'top blocks'

Here how it looks

Which type of block is that, which you are using to display some kind of posts, and which is not finding any posts?
Is it a "recent posts" or "recent topics" or "boardnews" or something else?

This information (what type of block you are trying to display) will help to understand how to make it display something.

I think I understand what you mean, however I do think that it does not matter at all, since when I had just installed the portal, and there was nothing but the portal itself, it was saying "No posts were found", too. I tried to add custom html, blog and whatnot, but it is still there.

When you first install SimplePortal, it comes with some blocks already created, just to show you some examples.
So go to your list of blocks.  Find out which block is there at the top of your top-blocks.
If you do not want it, get rid of that block.

Go through your entire list of blocks.
If they are not blocks you want, then get rid of them.

Does that help some?

A-ha I see! There was that "Board News" block which I did not add, and thought it has some serious jobs :D And by deleting that, the problem is solved.

Thank you for your help, it is much appreciated!
