How to get pages to work
« on: October 23, 2010, 07:40:56 PM »
SMF 2.0 RC3
SP 2.3.2

I created a page but I can't find where it shows up. There's nothing on the portal page or in the forums.
Any idea how I get them to show?
Thanks,

Hiya,  I'm new to all this and had the same query yesterday - you have to make a link to the page manually (anywhere you like). I got hold of the Dream Menu   mod from simplemachines.org which lets you add it as a menu button

Haha no problem - like I say you can add them manually, but for me that mod was ideal

Yeah I can't find it there now either! Lucky for you all the packages stay zipped on the server so I've FTPd it down and attached it for you.

Hope it helps. If you need any help with it lemme know.

PS I assume this isn't against any rules or anything

You can find other such mods by searching http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=search;basic_search=menu

Did that solve your problem?

No I haven't yet but will look at your link. Any chance of having that function in Simpleportal like in PortaMx?

That might make a good feature request -- option to add individual SimplePortal pages to main navigation menu.

I think that articles mod could partially replace pages, depending on how you are using pages.

If you are looking for something a little different from that:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=search;basic_search=menu+button

Turns up two mods that let you add buttons to the navigation menu:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2657
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1421
