Block page overflow
« on: August 17, 2011, 01:34:35 AM »
Greetings.

I am using SMF 2.0 and SP 2.3. The forum is at http://lionsgait.org/index.php. There is a left block named "Information" with three pages that are set to display on portal.  The pages hold html or BBcode and I am at a complete loss to figure out why all three overflow to the right and cause the right blocks to disappear.   I have attached two pics to show what I am trying to explain.

I  tried removing and recreating the block and the pages twice with no change, and have searched through your documentation and this forum hoping to find out how to fix this, but haven't found anything.    I appreciate any help that can be given.  Thank you.

Because of some difficulties with some browsers, portal.css uses a width of 100% for the center blocks.  Even though this is just technically incorrect, it actually works in most cases. Except in your case.
The solution is to edit portal.css
In the section for #sp_center, find width: 100%; and remove that line.

Greetings AngelinaBelle and thank you for following up.  :)

I'm afraid it didn't.  The pages still overflow to the right and hide the right blocks .   I also tried setting the right blocks to "not collapsible" but that didn't work either.  If you have any other ideas, I would greatly appreciate knowing them.  Thank you for your help.

Here is the link to one of the pages. Dragonlreams Related Sites Page

The above page and the "Officers List" page are both offered from the "Information" html left block and are both displaying in the same manner.  They display towards the right, and cover the right blocks completely.

Thank you for your help.

NB: I'm working on another page offered from the same Information block that offers a public google calendar. It currently displays by covering even the left html Information block, but that is another problem for another day I am thinking.

On that page, there is no right column.
No blocks at all are shown on the right. Therefore, the right column does not appear.
The tags <td id="sp_left"... and <td id="sp_center"... appear in the HTML source of that page, but there is no <td id="sp_right" anywhere on the page.

Please try modifying one of your blocks to make it show up on that page. Then see if it appears.
