Topic: Rookie help before installing SP

R O O K I E here, I am probably in the wrong place and I'm sure someone can point me to the right place. Finally have my smf 2.0 rc 5 up and going only to find out that most things I want like SP are not yet rc 5 ready.....Is it SP close to being ready for RC 5, or should I consider rolling SMF 2.0 rc 5 back to rc4.......Again sorry for asking here,,,,,I'll learn in time

Secondly, If I understand correctly SP is a mod, that I can turn on or off as any other mod. Meaning as a scared to death Rookie not wanting to crash what i finally got up, I can install and play when the few users I have aren't on and the turn off if they come in, etc.?   

Iknow that's alot but believe me I got 100's more. LOL thanks

SP is ready for use on RC5 and yes the portal is a mod.

My biggest piece of advice:
Get a second forum up and running, in  a second directory on the same server, in a second database_name, if possible (or with a different table prefix, if you cannot set up a second database_name).
 
This will allow you to test everything and anything with no worries, before implementing it on your live site.
