How can I change the meta descriptions After I installed simple portal?

I have an error in googlewebmaster (Pages with short meta descriptions)

There are SMF mods to make this easy.  Please search http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=search;basic_search=meta;bool=and;asc;start=10

to find one that works with your version of SMF.
For SMF 2.06, http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1871 claims to do the job.

seo pro can't change mata description of home page when we install simple portal
Of course NIBIGO is resolving this bug but I'm willing to resolve my problem sooner.

I am not familiar with the technique Nibogo uses, why it is a problem with SimplePortal installed, or how long it might take to fix the problem.

Until Nibogo makes the fix you want, you can:
* add stuff to index.template.php, if that works for you.  This is fine if you just need to ADD some stuff.  This can be used to add meta data on EVERY SINGLE page.
* muck around in the SimplePortal code which creates the meta data.  This is only strictly necessary if you desperately want to REMOVE some stuff which SimplePortal puts in

Let's go back to basics then.

In the Administration Center > Features and options there is a setting for "Meta keywords associated with forum".  What do you need to add that cannot be added there?

For example I add :

In my Portal page will show the name of my forum That is not what I want And of course in forum page everything is perfect .

I think I do understand now.

You want the code to figure out if it is running your Portal page.
If it is running the portal page, you want it to change the meta keywords.

This sounds quite straightforward.  I began by searching the code to figure out how to figure out if the current page is the portal page.  I did not figure this out, unfortunately.

Can anyone offer some help:  How do you check whether the current page is the portal page?

Unless there are any changes to the related code, whatever is set in Admin > Features and Options page Meta keywords associated with forum setting will be displayed as meta keywords both in Portal and Forum pages. If you have a mod that's modifying that, then you should ask the author of that mod to do something to support SimplePortal. If you are looking for a way to determine if the page is portal page or not, then check $context['SPortal']['on_portal'] variable; if it's true then it's the portal page.

mertadbir,  this is the hint you need to work on this kind of customization.
* It could be best to talk to your mod author, and ask if he can use $context['SPortal']['on_portal']   to create the option of different meta data on the SimplePortal portal page.
* To make this work requires making changes in index.template.php for whichever theme the search engines will see on your website.
* I do not know if you wish to make the change in "description" or "keywords" or in both.  If you are not sure, you should talk to your mod's author about what you wish to accomplish.
* The change in itself is pretty simple; it is knowing what you wish to accomplish that requires some thought.
