Help....Got error after I uninstall the SP
« on: June 21, 2012, 09:51:24 AM »
Hi,

I got this error after I uninstall my simpleportal

Quote
At this point unless you can still go back in your browser to that same SP uninstall screen, it will be difficult to pinpoint all the necessary reverse edits.

The undefined function error that is causing your forum to crash is located in the index.php file of your main directory.
Navigate to that file via FTP and remove the following code from it:
Code: [Select]
// Load SimplePortal.
   sportal_init();

I already do this, but I still got the same error and I cannot access my forum anymore.
Is there any other way to fix this. Or is it possible to install manually the SP?

Please look at index.php.  Please verify that the line sportal_init does not exist.

It is possible to manually uninstall the simple portal.  It will take a lot of checking, though.  You will need to use the parser at http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1104 -- choose the version of SMF and Simple Portal to get the manual install instructions.

Then, you will need to check, one step at a time, through each file, to see if that change got un-done.
It will be a pain.

How many mods do you have installed?

Thanks for your response. I got 15 other mods. I'm thinking to install it again manually,so my other mods will not be affected by it.

I just  find this on my index.php.

// Go catch it boy! Catch it!
      $sp_action = sportal_catch_action();
      if ($sp_action)
         return $sp_action;

Is this the one I need to delete? Do I need to delete all the sportal related in index.php

Rather than  use images to explain errors please type them into a post.

The image you supplied does not show the text very clearly.

Thanks  AngelinaBelle! I already solved my problem. I manually re installed my simple portal through FTP. Like what you told, It really pain to do one by one.

 I like the smileys here. What smileys is that, is that available to use on other forum?

Thanks.

I'm glad you figured it out.
Whether you were doing install or uninstall by hand, I'm sure that was a big pain.

I do not know why SMF failed to do properly the uninstall in the first place.  But I fear the SMF package manager will fail again in the future, with this mod or some other mod.

Please read about permissions and chmod, and see what you can find out that will help you next time.

I'm thinking what if I'm gonna uninstall it, I need to do it again one by one? Do I need to uninstall the mods first?

It is possible that you will have the same problem at uninstall time.
