is there any other way to do this?

There are two potential problems I can think of
1) That the html inside the tags breaks the page
2) that the post gets cut off after some html tags open, but before they close, and the tags do not get closed -- it is the cutoff that breaks the HTML.
Can you tell which it is?

i checked the tags, and they all have closing tags
so it could be the first one that u have suggested?
here are my codes
Code: [Select]
<table boarder="0"><tr><td>
<a href="http://kumakuni.com"><img src="http://www.kumakuni.com/img/email/sakura-1-email.png">
</a></td>

On the portal page, that post will be cutoff somewhere in the middle.
And maybe that will leave some HTML tags open.

parse_bbc (which turns posts into HTML) is very good at dealing with missing opened bbc tags.

But I don't think it is so good with html tags. Because it is not meant to parse HTML. It was only designed to parse BBC.

So I think that the problem is that HTML posts are not good for use in BoardNews and Articles because SMF's parse_bbc cannot deal with them properly. And SimplePortal, of course, is built on top of SMF.

You might be able to manage it by controlling the cutoff point with SimplePortal's [cutoff] tag.  Choose some point in the post where the HTML tags are properly closed, close html, put the cutoff tag, and pop back into HTML (if necessary) for the rest of the post.

Perhaps you would do this cutoff right after you close your first table.

oh i see now
because i have limited words to display
the portal block isn't showing tags after cutoff point, that's why it broke the template

i'm not sure what u mean by using the cutoff tag
i tried to add [!cutoff] <-remove ! after </table> or after first </td>, but it doesn't work

Code: [Select]
<table><tr><td>bunch of stuff</td><td>bunch of stuff</td><td>item 3</td></table>
[.cutoff.]
more html
<p>lots more html</p>
<div>fancy html that would break your page</div>
----Edit-------
(here, [.cutoff.] is standing in for [cutoff])
