Topic: I need to exclude boards from board news.

Yes, u see:

I'm using simpleportal 2.2.2 and smf 1.1.10 and i want to avoid the "board news" block to show the new topics coming from two boards I have with restricted access for regular users, whichIi use for management purposes, but i still can't find the way.

There's only a "board id" field to put a single board to show news from, but what i need is to EXCLUDE just two out of 40 boards from being shown.

I tried filling the "board id" field with all the boards ID I want to show except from those I don't want to, but the block will always leave just the first board ID that i put as the only source.

Can you guys tell me if there's any edit i can do myself to do this?

PD: Don't even think about making me upgrade from 2.2.2 to 2.3 because that option is seriously given up until they release some serious solution to the 2.2.2 uninstall problem.

What uninstall problem? If you are having uninstall issues, then post about them, don't assume that they are happening for everyone (which they clearly aren't).

Also, this issue has been discussed many times for SP 2.2.2, doing a simple search would have yield the topic below:

Uhm, that topic was 2.1 RC oriented.

And since everyone's into the 2.0 version of SMF it's been pretty hard for me to search through this forums, nothing personal.

Well, there is a very simple solution. Upgrade to SimplePortal 2.3.

If you are having issues with the uninstall of 2.2.2 and then the install of 2.3 then post about those issues, we can help resolve then.

I am more than happy to help with SMF 1.1.x customization, but there is absolutely no point, when the feature has been implemented in a newer version.
