Are they really simple? SMF and SP
« on: March 25, 2012, 10:10:39 PM »
Well, I thought "if there really are these simple programs, maybe even someone as ignorant as I could install and use them. HA! Well I did install SMF 2.0.2 I really want to install SP 2.3.5 RC1, but I am not sure how one does this, so I am reading the docs in SMF with respect to installing a MOD. They go into THEMES? Anywayz, I see where we are to provide a link...well it will ultimately be whatidliketosay.com. But for now I just want to get them installed and try to learn how to use them.

So, simpler is always better, so how could I choose anything else? Should I stay away from the BETA version of SP for now?

Simple portal is installed the same way as any other mod.

It is entirely your choice whether you use 2.3.5 RC1 or wait until it becomes final.

Welcome, gare,

mods are installed differently than themes are installed. SMF has a whole package manager to help you with that.
Please take a look at our documentation at http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=docs
There should be enough information on installing mods to get you started.

If you have any more questions, please continue asking.

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?
