Custom Title Class
« on: March 30, 2012, 03:42:56 PM »
Hello,
I just upgraded to 2.3.5 by reinstalling the portal as advised. One of the issues I have now is that custom titles on blocks, I use one only for a side menu block, seem to be locked to the default title class for articles etc., catbg I think it is called.

As I am forced to chose a default class, I used catbg3 which was ofc undefined in index.css before and it worked. Now however the image used by the custom class has the default class image behind it somehow, and it seems also some proprties of the default class including a 1px bottom, :S Also using custom class titles on other default classes makes the catbg appear behind it.
I don't know how this can happen, in the mainblock.png, the two are separate from each other, :S I just wanted the custom class to show, not something else, :S

Can you describe what exactly you are trying to achieve with that custom class? There are unfortunately some limitations to header styling because of the way headers are coded in Curve.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

This particular custom class was purely for that block, a Custom HTML block and used to show a header image using a row on mainblock.png.
It seems when I use custom title classes, now the default catbg is still used and the properties of it as well. It's on a theme called DarkBreak, maybe this kindof perverts it, :P /noob

Well, that still doesn't help me understand the issue, but here's what you can do. You can disable both title and body of the block and do all of the styling in the Custom HTML body.

Hmm okay, :/ It seems to be something with catbg3, the only one that worked before the upgrade for custom classes (And was not connected afaik to anything on main_block.png, but I can't find where its properties are.

EDIT: I seem to have, before and after 2.3.5 upgrade, the same issue as here except when using catbg3 as default and then add a custom, hence why I always thought that only catbg3 was supposed to work with custom title classes. :S

I've dug abit into this and as I understand it some issue akin to this is supposed to be fixed with 2.3.5. But for some reason, for me it's the exact opposite, didn't experience this until the upgrade. I tested to simply replace this file /Themes/default/Portal.template.php 2.3.5 with 2.3.3 and Custom Title Class works normally again, :S

Unless you tell me what is exactly that you are trying to do, I can't really help. Sorry.

 :'( I want a custom made block header for a menu block, so I made one in main_block.png
With the old template file, it looks like this:
With the new template file, it looks like this:

The only default title class that works with custom ones is catbg3 so that's what is tested, if I try with something else like say titlebg or catbg2, the respective image turns up but still with that gray background, but that's not an issue as long as at least one works.

This gray background is from the standard title class for articles etc etc, as shown to the right and in main_block.png. It also appears the supposed custom title class gets some properties from this in the background catbg as well.

This was easily fixed by deleting lines 189 and 199, the div class in this section. I mark as solved, :)
Code: [Select]
if (empty($block['style']['no_title']))
{
echo '
<div class="', in_array($block['style']['title']['class'], array('titlebg', 'titlebg2')) ? 'title_bar' : 'cat_bar', '"', !empty($block['style']['title']['style']) ? ' style="' . $block['style']['title']['style'] . '"' : '', '>
 <h3 class="', $block['style']['title']['class'], '">';

if (empty($block['force_view']))
echo '
<a class="sp_float_right" style="padding-top: 7px;" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="sp_collapseBlock(\'', $block['id'], '\')"><img id="sp_collapse_', $block['id'], '" src="', $settings['images_url'], $block['collapsed'] ? '/expand.gif' : '/collapse.gif', '" alt="*" /></a>';

echo '
', parse_bbc($block['label']), '
</h3>
</div>';
}
