If you are using an updated version of Simple Portal (v2.34 or v2.35), the block permissions will allow for this.

Edit the shoutbox block and where it says permissions with a drop menu select custom. A membergroup list should be visible with 3 radio buttons beside each one. Set Administrator to D (denied).

Maybe better to use a chat mod for SMF. There is a Wibiya free chat integration mod on the SMF site. Also other direct chat mods.

Thanks to SiNaN, I have found out this is actually a very easy customization.

In Subs-Portal.php:

Code (find) Select Expand


$time_limit = 2;


Code (replace) Select Expand


return false;

Where do i start editing them from?

I edit them and reinstall simple portal with new one?
And i believe that code will make it so everyone can post non stop i want to make it so admins can post non stop and others cant

and there wasnt any

Correct there is nothing on the admin panel for this.

This will require a customization of your Simple Portal code.
To make this change, you will have to edit a php file.
That file is called Subs-Portal.php.

Make the change that I told you about above.
