Tried 5 times failed 5 times
« on: June 25, 2012, 04:50:41 PM »
Good day all,
I have been trying to install SimplePortal 5 times now. On a super clean install of smf, and with Every file set to 777 and still i get over 1000 Error messages in the Error log, i tried manually putting the files in the correct locations, but even that did not help. I even got a headache now, anyone who can help me out to get this working?

Edited:  Also maybe to note, on uninstall the only test that passed was:
   4.   Execute Modification   ./Sources/BoardIndex.php   Test successful

Cypher,

Looking at your current profile settings I assume you are using SMF v2.0.2 & SimplePortal v2.3.5 ?
Are you able to install other mods without issue on this SMF installation?

Folder permission settings should be set to 0755 but manually adding the files & changing the values should not be necessary as the installer should be functioning properly on a default (unedited) SMF 2.0.2.

ok so i got one step further now, its functioning for like 50% i have to add all the missing images and all that, have any idea what could be the main reason of that? it just did not put like the portal php files in its correct folder and so on.

Edit: i guess im not meant to be installing sp, now i cant find the stuff where to change the settings :dead:

Another edit: now every time the error log reloads i got 27 error logs that keep returning most of them looking like

8: Undefined index: sp_admin_shoutbox_add
File: .../forum/Sources/Admin.php
Line: 355

anyone has any idea how to fix the last errors? Also i still do not have any settings options

This is getting more akward by the minute, now there are no errors left, the whole portal is loading, but smf doesnt see it being installed
I think that that is the problem why i cant see the settings

Last edit i guess: Dont ask me how but it seems to be working all fine now!
