Adjust block height ?
« on: October 15, 2013, 02:18:12 PM »
Hi,

I use a custom HTML block, to show some links on my index page.
How can i use adjust the block height ?

Now i can only see 2 links. On the right side of the block i see a scroll bar  :|

Thanks,

One option is to use the custom body style in the block editor.
You can set the height that way.
But I am a little bit surprised.  SimplePortal blocks are designed to be large enough for whatever goes inside.
So I wonder if the HTML in your custom block is affecting the height of a container inside the block.
This is exactly what is done in the shoutbox, where all the shouts are in a div with a scrollbar. This is created by a list with a defined height, using inline style (look for shoutbox_list_compact to find this in the HTML).

Is your custom HTML block doing something like this?

The HTML cannot be seen by looking at a picture.
Would it be possible to see the forum itself?

The website is Aquaplaats

The html is this:

When i remove the shoutbox, then the block height is ok.

One thing you might try is removing the <head>....</head> section of that custom HTML block, and also the <html> and <body> (and matching closing tags) on the same page.  There should never be an <html> or <body> or <head> tag inside the <body> of the page.

This "bad html" might cause some confusion for the browser.

If that is not the case, then there is possibly something interesting going on with the style definitions related to the shoutbox, which we can explore, if you like.
