Description:

I've been using Simpleportal for a while. GREAT mod. But I decided to have it set to Standalone.

See my forum is at http://mainmedia.me/forum

My standalone page which I set it to point to as http://mainmedia.me/index.php

I only get these errors above when not logged in on standalone page. I've had no other errors on anything. My database is UTF 8 btw.

Thanks for ANY help,

Jason

It seems almost as though ForumFirewall.php doesn't much like being on your portal standalone page.
But the real problem could be some other incompatability between any of the mods you have installed.

I am completely unfamiliar with forum firewall.
You might check at the mod's support site, to find other SimplePortal users, like bigguy, and find out if they have had similar problems.

At the same time, you could try, on a test instance of your forum (you could call it /forumtest), installing JUST simpleportal, keep the standalone page at /forumtest/PortalStandalone.php, test the standalone page, then install ForumFirewall and test again.

That would certainly help narrow things down.

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?

Oh thank you so much.  :)

I disabled ForumFirewall and now it seems to work perfectly. I guess I'll have to contact them about this error.

I was also wondering if you could help me with a small favour please.

I wanted the standalone page to have different buttons than the rest of the forum pages to make it look a little bit separate from the forum. I wanted the forum to have "Home (goes to standalone page) - Forum (goes to forum) - Help - Search - Calendar - Arcade - Shop - Members - Login - Register". I wanted the stand alone page to have custom buttons. Like maybe "Home - Forum - Chat - Wiki - About - Contact Us - Register" or something...

Would you please do this for me or tell me how so I can myself? I'm not so good with the coding side of themes.

Thanks,

Jason

I know this can be done.
But I don't know, offhand, how to do it.

Your navigation buttons, for SMF version 1.1.11, are found in index.template.php

What you can do there is test for which page you are on, and enable and disable buttons accordingly.

One thing you could check is the current page's URL. That could be a fairly ugly, but simple, way to do it.
