how to list topics on portal from one specific board?
« on: February 19, 2011, 04:30:51 PM »
Hello, i am using SMF 1.1.13 with default theme and SimplePortal 2.3.3.

My problem is quite simple but the solution isn't really! I have 2 boards in one category. I want to list topics from only one of these 2 boards on my front portal page. But currently, all topics from both boards are being shown on the portal page. How to configure that?

No answer? Is that not possible? I used to have TinyPortal and they had that option. :(

Try a board news block, and select only the boards you wish to use.

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?

Thanks a lot for your help, AngelinaBelle. I managed to figure it out.

I have another question. How to center the topics shown on the portal? Currently, all the topics are left-aligned.

For other blocks, this is possible in the block editor, by messing with the body styles.
Currently though, this option is not applicable to the board_news and articles blocks, or to articles themselves, though it may be in the future.

Currently, the only way to modify the style of the board_news block would be to get into the function sp_boardNews in PortalBlocks.php and fiddle with the HTML there.
