Hi, I tested the website and it is great.

I found there are a few bugs

Not sure what you mean, the Package Manager is able to handle both of those compressions. In the case of a server limitation, you can just download the zip archive instead, as both are offered.

This is not a problem with Simple Portal from the looks of it, but rather with the permissions of your server configuration on those directories. Make sure everything is writable, make sure that all the files can be accessed through the FTP account given to SMF, etc.

Well that's strange, I managed to install it just fine and on the 500+ sites I manage.

I found this in another board and moved it here, so it will show up on the support radar.
Are you still having this problem?  It is very unusual.  If there does turn out to be a bug, I promise we will make a bug report yet.
